Strategies for Collaboration
In addition to the classroom Partnerships, DreamYard and PS/MS 306 will continue to develop and open a brand new After school program modeled on DreamYard's successful After School Arts Company in East Harlem. This year we are offering theater, visual arts and symphony classes and the response has been overwhelmingly positive in terms of encouraging us to open a more comprehensive program next year. We will develop family and community programs designed to link school and community. Connecting children, their families and the larger community through arts programs, workshops and festivals will have a distinct impact on student achievement, and on school climate and the community as a whole.

Professional Development goals
Our grant from NYSCA will enable us to turn a strong partnership into a model for how the arts can be used as a vehicle to inspire young people and embolden teachers. DreamYard and PS/MS 306 have a good working relationship and we share a vision of where the school can go. Teachers, artists and administrators are committed to the work that will need to be done in order to make this partnership a success.
